Who is your style Icon? Great question, I don’t know! I don’t want to name specific people, but the people at the mall who just look like they have their life together. I feel like anybody who looks done. Like, makeup done, hair done, outfit is cute, it could probably be anything as long as they look like the intended finished product. I’ll see that person and think, “That person looks good, I want to look like that.” I don’t know, I feel like I’m in a rut- I need to go shopping soon.
What inspires you? Hard working and hard working people. People who overcome the odds, that’s always really inspiring.
Proudest hair moment? Just making people feel good. There’s been occasions with brides or just people who aren’t used to seeing themselves so done up, and they just look at themselves -whether its because of hair or makeup or both- and they’re just like, “Wow.” That’s probably what makes me the most proud. Giving people that little moment.
What should people know about me? I take pride in doing a really good job, I can’t imagine going into something and not giving it my all. I’m going to give it everything I have from start to finish.
What should people know about Icon? I feel like the people who go here, they know us, their family and friends know us and there’s those who don’t think they do, but then they realize, “Oh, I’ve heard of that place.” I feel like they need to know that we’ve been here a long time and we know what we’re doing. New clients come in not expecting what’s inside and they usually leave super happy with it.
If there was a movie about your life, what would it be called? The Hill. I feel like I’m constantly climbing up this hill. Its upward, and I can see a bit of the horizon, but there’s always something I have to overcome, and I have overcome a lot! But if I look down I can see how far I’ve come, but I’m just waiting to get to the top of that hill.
I never leave home without… Pants. I guess unless I’m wearing a dress. But even when I’m wearing a dress I’m wearing spandex, so you always gotta have something to keep it all in.
What is the hair product you can’t live without? Protein cream. It literally saves hair lives, it does such good things.
